vision & inspiration
The regrow journal was created to share and get feedback on the product vision, start building a community and test features of the regrow product including collaborative content, resources, reflections and tools. It will also be a learning hub for those interested in understanding the process of creating a new product; I will reflect on my successes and failures along the way so we learn and grow together.
I’ve spent 10 years helping organizations develop and bring their product visions to life and now it’s time to make my own vision a reality. The vision for regrow was developed while on my personal self-discovery journey and here it is:
The regrow product vision:
content contributors: provide a platform with the necessary tech, functionality and audience for passionate and skilled coaches, teachers, creators and artists to share their unique knowledge and skills through courses, training, challenges, resources, tools, support channels, etc.
members: advocate and support individuals on their unique self-discovery journeys using scientifically-proven frameworks, accessible and low-cost tools, resources, support and community through a flexible and personalized platform.
physical spaces: create spaces and programs to house wellbeing and learning opportunities for organizations, individuals and children.
in-person: create opportunities for in-person interactions; local cycling/running crews, WOHASU roadshow, conferences, SPIRE retreat or community support groups.
travel: create travel products that provide the opportunity to take care of yourself (personal wellbeing) and/or give back socially or environmentally in your travel destination.
I listened to Codex by Radiohead on repeat as I developed the pillars of regrow. So hit play and read on.
pillars of regrow:
1) Education
Knowledge is power, especially during hard times. I witnessed the mistreatment of my Dad’s alcoholism within the medical system and at the time I didn't understand the root cause of addiction so I put my faith in the medical system which failed to treat the wholebeing. The internet has brought about a wealth of information and for that I am grateful, but it also is full of misinformation and sometimes it’s hard to know what to ask Google and then which link to click on.
regrow aims to bring together passionate teachers, coaches, creators and artists to collaborate on building a marketplace of low-cost and accessible resources, tools, courses and training that considers personal wellbeing (spiritual, physical, intellectual, relational, emotional) and fairness (access to effective wellness services).
2) Tools
We all need a personal SPIRE healing tool kit that we build into our routines and reach for during the hard times.
regrow aims to understand the needs of its users and provide tools that support their own unique journey through life. The first tool we will showcase is journaling and the use of voice memos to better understand thoughts, emotion and past painful experiences.
We will also continue to offer a journaling program that includes a pre-recorded workshop, journaling topics, resources and suggested actions and an opportunity to provide feedback. Look out for a future post to learn more and sign up.
3) Support
I couldn’t find effective, low-cost and accessible support to help my Dad through his addiction. Failed interventions and rehab left me and my family feeling helpless. I saw how trauma impacted my whole family; each suffering in their own way from the grief of losing someone who couldn’t find their way out of a dark place. Especially during difficult times, we need to know we are not alone and that there are options for everyone to get the support they need.
In the future, regrow will offer 1:1 and group coaching/mentoring services with sliding scale pricing to ensure we reach as many people as possible.
4) Community
Many of us feel alone in our life journey, even if we are surrounded by people. Often it’s because we aren’t comfortable sharing our struggles, mistakes, confusing thoughts or true identity out of fear of judgement or rejection. Everything is interconnected, so whether you are figuring out how to be a new parent, are grieving the loss of a loved one, searching for more meaning and purpose in your life, struggling to find your fit or any of the other hardships we encounter, regrow will provide a safe space to share experiences and listen to others.
At regrow, we want to bring people back together again through supportive communities. Where people feel comfortable sharing their struggles (and joys!) without judgement and can learn from each other. Sometimes just knowing we aren’t the only one suffering is all we need to keep moving forward.
5) Innovation
The regrow product will constantly evolve by creating user feedback loops and through data and research.

What’s next?
My next steps are to start validating the idea through conversations with my network of experts, survey target audiences, complete a competitive analysis and refine the product vision.
